2017 Summer Library Program at the Wall Lake Public Library! Free read at home and special events on Mondays in June for all ages. Monday, June 5th at 1:00 pm Insect Zoo from ISU "The Building of Bugs"; Monday, June 12th at 1:00 pm Science Center of Iowa "Building Blunders"; Monday, June 19th at 1:00 pm Megan Cook (SCCC) "Born to Build"; Monday, June 26th at 1:00 pm Lego Day/Party. Read books all summer long - prizes awarded as supplies last - through 8/17/2017.
Rookie Readers (Birth to 5)
Rookie Reader Guidelines: Young readers, ages birth to 5, who need someone to read to them may participate. Read five books to your Rookie Reader, and then bring your child in for a visit to earn a sticker. Ten or more books per visit will earn a second sticker. The goal is ten library visits plus at least 50 books read to a Rookie Reader. PRIZES: Visit 5 : Food Coupon; Visit 8 : Food Coupon; Visit 10 : Food Coupon and Yard Sign. Stickers will be handed out from June 1 until August 27th.
Champion Readers (K-4th)
Summer Reading Guidelines: 1. Books must be checked out from the Wall Lake Public Library. 2. Each child determines their own reading level. 3. STICKERS are awarded fro each book read (up to 25 books). 4. Books may be fiction or non-fiction. Audio books on CD DO NOT count. 5. Prizes: Read 10 books - join Club 10 - draw a food coupon. Read 15 books - join Club 15 - draw a food coupon. Read 25 books - join Club 25 - earn a free book and a yard sign.
All-Star Readers (5th to 8th)
Program Guidelines: Read books all summer long and keep track of your pages read to win prizes. PRIZES: Read 1500 pages - receive a food coupon. Read 2500 pages - receive a yard sign and a free book. Prizes will be awarded as supplies last.
Hall of Fame Readers (9th to 12th & adult)
Program Guidelines: Read books all summer long and log the number of pages to win great prizes! PRIZES: Read 1500 pages - receive a $5 gift card to Wal-mart. Read 2500 pages - receive a yard sign. Prizes are awarded as supplies last.
